Eggs

Yes....the lavender araucana's we bought at the beginning of the year are starting to lay.

At the moment only 1 out of the 3 are laying, but it's a start.

The silky bantams have been laying less and less each year.....well they are now 8 years old, so it was to be expected.  They now just spend their life pottering around the garden.

The araucana's eggs are meant to be a lovely blue colour, but this one is laying eggs that seem to be a brown colour with a slight blue cast - looks a bit like they are rotten!!!

anyway I think I will have poached eggs on toast for lunch, and see how they taste.
