Well the pallets have been painted by the boys and I have shovelled in the dirt.
I initially bought a few bags of potting mix, not realising how much each pallet would actually need. Each pallet took 125 litres of soil, so to save money I ended up getting a family member with a ute to get a scoop of loam from the hardware & garden store...this saved me a bit of money. The plants I got were actually small seedlings, to save on money too, so the fort walls will have to lay down for a bit longer than I planned. I filled up the gaps with seeds for rockery flowers.
Next step....covering over the whole thing with netting, as the chooks thought I'd planted a smorgasboard for them and started to eat all the plants!!!
Now I just have to keep the kids, dog and chooks off it long enough to establish
